When we were living in Germany we had an opportunity to take a trip to Egypt for Christmas in 1978. Recently I have discovered the journal that I wrote during the trip. It was quite the adventure!
Now, 42 years later we are planning to revisit the ancient land of Egypt. This trip will also take us to Jordan and we will get to see Petra and the Wadi Rum. It will be interesting to see how things have changed and how much we remember from our last trip.
Our itinerary looks like this:
Feb 27 Fly to Cairo with Egyptair.
Feb 28 Evening dinner cruise on the Nile.
Feb 29 Woo hoo it’s a leap year!! The pyramids of Giza and Memphis.
Mar 1 Our 45th anniversary. Tour of Cairo including the Egypt museum and evening visit to the pyramids for the sound and light show.
Mar 2 Fly to Luxor. Temple of Karnak plus the beginning of our cruise on the Nile.
Mar 3 Valley of the Kings.
Mar 4 Edfu and Kom Ombo.
Mar 5 Aswan.
Mar 6 Leave cruise. Nubian village tour.
Mar 7 Fly to Amman.
Mar 8 Jeep ride in Wadi Rum.
Mar 9 Petra.
Mar 10 Dead Sea.
Mar 11 Dead Sea, Amman, Fly to Cairo.
Mar 12 Fly to Toronto.
We are looking forward to it!!
