Into the Desert

We left LA this morning, heading out to Cathedral City to visit Bill and Brenda. Leaving mid morning gives one a better chance of getting out of town unscathed. Cat City is only 2 hours from LA so we stopped at Desert Hills Premium Outlts for a little walk. This facility is under going a major growth spurt and will be easily twice the size once it's completed.
Then it was back on the I10 and the beautiful drive into the desert and through the massive wind farm that announces the beginning of Palm Springs. By late afternoon, we were sitting around the pool at Bill and Brenda's Matisse Road home, sipping champagne. Sounds delightful and it was! We were then joined by Brockville friends of Bill and Brenda, Michele and Jim who joined us for dinner at La Brasserie, a French styled restaurant in La Quinta. We had a wonderful assortment of meals from osso bucco to calf's liver to duck cassoulet to wienershnitzel and it was all fabulous.
Then it was back to Cat City for nightcaps and bed. Another great day!
