Back to Beziers

Thursday was market day once again in St. Chinian, so a visit was obligatory. We actually found a book seller who had an excellent collection of English books for reasonable prices. Since Dawn was getting short of books, this was a good thing.
Next, we headed back to Beziers to meet Peter & Margaret at L'Octopus for lunch. This was a Michelin one star that had been recommended by the caretakers of our house.

On the way into Beziers we passed the arena built in the late 1800's - shown above - which hosts many events as well as one bullfight a year.
After a brief walk about Beziers to check out the two prime Cathar cathedrals, St. Nazaire shown below & St. Madelaine, we met for lunch.

For lunch, we had their prix fixe which for two courses was 21 Euros with a glass of wine and coffee. First course for all of us but Peter, was a gazpachio soup with goat cheese and Peter had a raw fish entree that he agreed was unlike anything he'd had before.

Main course for all of us but Peter, who had chicken on green beans, was cod with mussels and ravioli. What a cool place to have lunch!
We finally exited Beziers and led Peter & Margaret to St. Chinian. Once in town , we set out to sample the terroir. Having visited the Espace du vins, The Cooperative and the Maison du Vins, we returned to Aurelie for further sampling and a rousing game of Bite Me, which Peter won. *#*$?#$*
