Once in Strasbourg we began a walking tour as set out in the Michelin Guide. Thanks to that, we learned lots of things that we never knew about Strasbourg, like it was founded by the Irish and sauerkraut was originated by the Chinese. Once at the cathedral, which by the way, rivals the magnificence of Notre Dame in Paris, we took a boat ride for an hour in the canal of the Ill that surrounds downtown Strasbourg. This was somewhat slow but did allow us a view of Strasbourg never before seen.
