Pigeon Residence, Cairanne

We did indeed head down to Auchan in Avignon-nord this morning and stocked up. Although it's not nearly as close as Orange or Vasion la Romaine, it's a pretty quick trip down one leg of the A7 autoroute and you get off right at the Auchan, so it's very convenient.
As promised yesterday, I'll give you a more comprehensive look at the Pigeon home in the old village of Cairanne and in particular I'll give you a look at what Peter has been up to recently.
First of all, this pic will illustrate the location of la maison Pigeon from the east. If you look immediately to the right of Dawn's finger, you'll make out the end of the house.

The only picture that I'm repeating today, from an earlier entry, is the next one looking down the road past the west side of their house. This shows not only the original studio apartment that was their home for longer then Margaret wants to remember, the new entrance to the house, with the gate leading through the yard to the now usable front door. He has most sections of the fencing done, with only around the front left.

There is a new wall to the right of the studio and encompassing the entire property, with several new rooms in the making. I'm not certain what the final plans are, but I suspect wine storage and/or wine making facilities and a pottery studio are likely possibilites.

The next pic shows these new walls from the east back of the house.

There appears to be an excavation for a pool in the courtyard, but one thing is for certain. Peter has given himself a lot more work.
I showed you the kitchen at the beginning of the visit, but this shot goes back to include the new dining room next the kitchen and the pic after that is the view into the now usuable living room from the dining room.

The bedrooms on the second floor were done last time we were here, but here's a shot of the main inhabitants of Peter & Margaret's bedroom - Cecile and Corton.

Both terraces have nice sitting areas and we prefer the end one off the master bedroom, because is gets the breeze and not so much sun and has the end of the day views worth waiting for.
