Welcome autumn - do I have to?

As we awoke today, I became aware that the first day of autumn had just snuck up on us. Inversely, that means that summer has abandoned us. C'est la vie! Although not a particularly wonderful summer in Canada, we certainly have enjoyed both early and late summer weather in Europe. But, let's not despair. We shall not mourn summer's loss. We shall simply have another glass of wine and move on.

We were hot on the tourist trail today with our new visitors, as we did the Vaison la Romaine market for a fifth time and then did the drive up to the summit of Mt. Ventoux, stopping on the way for lunch in Malaucene.

Tim & Dianne found the drive to the summit quite exhilarating - actually it scared the living daylights out of them. Once atop the mount, they were fine, but they pretty much closed their eyes on the way up. It was a reasonably clear day, so the views were their usual spectacular.

On the way down, we came upon some sheep grazing - not on the road this time. There was a couple picnicking right in the middle of the flock, which made for an interesting sight.

We took the scenic drive back to Cairanne via Crillon la Brave, shown above, Caromb and le Barroux shown below.

With our market purchases, plus some added goodies from Intermarche, we had a great dinner at home this evening.
