Les Baux de Provence

Les Baux, named after the bauxite quarries that used to dominate this area, was our destination today. The village is a Plus Beaux Village and has a castle worth touring.
But that wasn't the reason we came here here today. The former quarry space now hosts art shows featuring multi projections accompanied by varied soundtracks. It is truly an awesome experience!
In this case the artists featured were 15th century painters Bosch, Brueghel and Arcimboldo, whose works are not really alike at all. Not only were the walls covered with moving dynamic images, but the floors as well.
The road here takes you through St. Remy with arguably one of the most scenic plane tree lined roads anywhere.
The grape harvest continues primarily on the plain vineyards.
