One Final Market

By now, anyone reading this blog knows we like markets - guilty as charged. So for our last day in Provence, off we went once more to the popular Nyons market.
Other than a chicken for dinner, there was nothing we really wanted or needed, other some exercise. After an hour or so, we decided lunch up in the hills at Villedieu was in order, so we took the back road out of Nyons. We were following a camper and watched him try to get past one of the montrous mechanized grape harvesters that you often encounter on these roads. When he got to me, we still had to do some wiggling to pass each other without issues. It was a reminder that although there is two way traffic, that the roads aren't really wide enough to support two way traffic.
Villedieu has hilltop views and an idyllic plane tree protected square, that a couple restaurants use. Each time we come here we enjoy the Cafe du Centre and their steak frites and moules frites
The place was packed and by the time we were finishing lunch, there wasn't a seat to be had - not even for the myriad of dogs joining us.
Back in Cairanne we did some final packing and then sat on the terrace enjoying the heat and sun and the entertaining airshow where a pilot was exercising barrel rolls and mach 5 climbs - all above Chez Pigeon.
So, tomorrow morning we bid adieu to Cairanne and head off to Lourdes in the deep central south of France.
