Villages Perches

We had another light day today - saving up for what is to come later this week. After a bit of shopping, we headed to Entrechaux where we hoped to finally have lunch at St. Hubert.
Although they may have a reputation for wild dishes, we were perhaps at the wrong time of the year. We did, however, have a nice three course prix fixe for 16 Euros which started with this nicely presented camembert salad with figs and caper berries.
Although we have now done this drive many times, I never cease to be in awe of ancient builders who chose to built on the edge of cliffs or on the top of hills for security reasons I assume, rather than merely for the view. The drive from Vaison la Romaine to Entrechaux has a nice selection of perched villages.
Back at Chez Pigeon we began the task of prepacking to see how our suitcase weight was going to pan out. So far so good - no immediate needs for a trip to the La Poste.
